UCI Holds First Design Liaison Meeting about Huawei Small Train Project

UCI recently convened the first design liaison meeting about the procurement project of the signal system for the small train project in Huawei’s Qingpu R&D center (“Huawei Small Train Project”) in Shanghai. The two sides had detailed discussions on the system topological graph, system layout, technical specifications for operation dispatching management system, technical specifications for signal equipment, system interfaces and so forth, with minutes recorded.
After UCI won Huawei Small Train Project in July, its Low Volume Business Center, a department that implements complete solutions of weak current system integration in the field of low and medium volume of rail transit and implements complete solutions of signal control and safety dispatching in the field of railway, swiftly led the establishment of a project department, actively communicated with the proprietor, prepared for liaison meetings and other tasks.
The proprietor and designer highly praised the company for the relevant management work at the design liaison meeting. The attendees carefully discussed the system architecture and design scheme provided by the company, and agreed that the scheme is feasible on the whole as its functional configuration and main performance parameters meet the engineering requirements. The attendees unanimously decided to push forward the next stage of work as soon as possible on the basis of the discussion results of the first liaison meeting, with the meeting minutes as a specific work guide.
Huawei’s Qingpu R&D center will serve as a R&D base of its terminal chips and IoT chips. The center is centered around waterways and has seven clusters, namely urban blocks, a classic urban axis, hilltop settlements, a water town, an urban university courtyard, a forest town and a square town. The small train project, aligned with the center’s cluster divisions, includes Urban Block Station, Daqiaobei Station, Hilltop Settlement Station, Water Town Station, Daqiaonan Station, Urban University Station, Forest Town Station, Square Town Station Station, and two VIP stations.
UCI's independently-developed subsystems, including centralized dispatching management subsystem, interlocking control subsystem, intelligent intersection control subsystem and vehicle subsystem, will be fully applied in Huawei Small Train Project. The “Integrated signal interlocking control system” with fully independent IP rights rated at SIL 4, the highest safety level, has an advanced architecture and components featuring higher integration, higher reliability and more flexibility, which has been applied in many projects. It brings many benefits for proprietors, including simplifying late-stage maintenance, cutting maintenance costs and completely simulating station yards.
