The first design liaison meeting about stage II of the dedicated communication system integration project for Ningbo Rail Transit Line 6’s Phase I project, Line 7 and Line 8’s Phase I project was rounded off in Ningbo on September 12. The attendees included representatives from the proprietor, design units, UCI and associated suppliers, such as Ningbo Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Communication Signal Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd. and ZHID.
Stage II of the dedicated communication system integration project for Ningbo Rail Transit Line 6’s Phase I project, Line 7 and Line 8’s Phase I project is primarily about equipment procurement, integration and related services for Ningbo Rail Transit Line 8’s Phase I project and COCC dedicated communication system. UCI will provide integration services for transmission, telephone, video surveillance, power supply, passenger information, public address, cabling, digital operation and maintenance, video conferencing, centralized recording, modular equipment room and other systems. Since it won the bid in mid-August, UCI has been actively cooperating with relevant parties on early-stage coordination to steadily press ahead with its work.
At the meeting, UCI’s experts and technicians sequentially presented the system’s technical specifications, design scheme, interface, equipment list and so forth, and had full discussions and exchanges with the entities and professionals attending the meeting.
The attendees dissected the technical problems raised at the meeting, put forward a large number of forward-looking and feasible opinions and suggestions, clarified the system design and hardware requirements, and exchanged views on the implementation progress, schedule and others. All parties finally reached a consensus, and the meeting minutes were recorded.
The successful convening of the first design liaison meeting about the project in Ningbo ensures the overall schedule of the project to some extent, which lays a solid foundation for the orderly and steady implementation of the follow-up work. UCI will give full play to its leading technical advantages and project management advantages in the field of urban rail transit construction, and strive for excellence in project delivery, with a view to building the dedicated communication system integration project of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 8’s Phase I project into an excellent one.
Ningbo Rail Transit Line 8’s Phase I project basically runs from southeast to northwest. The line starts from Jiangcun Village in Yinzhou District in the southeast and ends at Jiangbei Avenue in Jiangbei District in the northwest, with a total length of 23.3 km. It was constructed below ground level. Line 8’s Phase I project has 19 stations, including 9 transfer stations. The line was equipped with one depot and one parking lot, namely Xiayingnan train depot and Hongtang parking lot, respectively. Line 7 and Line 8 share one depot and one testing line. There are two main substations, Xiejia and Fujia. Xiejia main substation is an existing main substation that is shared with Line 4, while Fujia main substation is a new one in Xiayingnan train depot that is shared with Line 7 and Line K2. Additionally, Line 8’s Phase I project has provisions for potential extensions, with the possibility of expanding south to Ningbo International Conference Center at Jiangcun Station and north to Cicheng New Town at Jiangbei Avenue Station. It connects various important nodes of Ningbo and is the backbone of urban public transport to realize the integration of the eastern and western parts and promote the development of the city.
