UCI Wins Bid of Research Project on Active Security Control Technology with Data from Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway of CHN Energy

UCI recently won the bid of a research project on active security control technology with data from the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway. Prior to this, UCI was the bid winner of several projects of CHN Energy, which has effectively promoted the informatization, digitalization and intelligentization of related projects.

In the project, UCI will assume responsibilities of exploring domain-based management techniques during data sharing and transmission, active protection and isolation techniques, data sharing, application and evaluation techniques, controlled data flow techniques, storage techniques during data sharing and application, secure multi-party computation for data sharing and application, data provenance techniques, data security management methods and management tools for data collection, storage, use, processing, transmission, provision, disclosure and other processing behaviors, multi-source data governance methods and techniques on non-data middle platform and so forth based on the data from Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway. In addition, UCI will apply for and obtain the corresponding invention patents and software copyrights and publish them on journals.

Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway, an important part of the Shenmu-Huanghua Railway, starts from Shuozhou Station in Shanxi Province in the west where it connects with the Shenmu-Shuozhou Railway, and terminates at the freight yard of Huanghua Port in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province in the east. The railway, 598 km long, was designed to be a national class I trunk line and a double-track electrified railway. At present, the information system protection and network security protection measures of Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway apply to the security management of static data. With the implementation of the digital transformation strategy to “intelligentize” the railway, there must be a large amount of data flow, integration and interaction among various professions, levels and units. Once the data goes out the protection of the original system, it is easy to cause data security risks. As data security incidents may have a serious impact on national security, corporate interests and personal privacy, it is urgent for Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway to establish effective preventive measures against data security risks during data sharing and application.

For this purpose, Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway expects to carry out active security management on streaming data through a localized active data security control platform to achieve seamless connection with the original information system’s data security measures, which will realize smooth data flow, integration and interaction on the premise of ensuring data security and maximize the value of data. The ultimate goal is to pioneer an active data security protection model for CHN Energy’s transportation business to take the lead and set a benchmark within the group.

Currently, there is an urgent need for digital transformation in traditional industries like rail transit. UCI has taken many practical actions against industry pain points and difficulties, and made efforts to explore data collection, transmission, processing, storage, security analysis and so on. On one hand, it has independently developed a hyperconverged intelligent control all-in-one machine and unified data criteria, which enables the unified collection and storage of all equipment data and supports real-time data integration. The built-in lightweight data middle platform allows data mining, increasing the use value of data. On the other hand, with the focus on data security, Chinese cryptographic algorithms are used to encrypt and decrypt data, and a zero-code data analysis platform has been developed, which is convenient for operators to use. Moreover, professionals conduct in-depth analysis of data with professional tools, enabling the integration of big data and rail transit industry.

In the future, UCI will leverage its innovative technologies to empower the digital transformation of Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway and use more emerging technologies in its production and operation in an all-round and effective manner, so as to lift the digital transformation of Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway to a new level.
