Seoul Special City Infrastructure Delegation from South Korea Visited UCI and Exchanged Ideas with UCI Leaders

On October 17, Li Shengfu, a member of the Seoul Special City Council, South Korea, led a delegation to visit UCI, accompanied by Zhang Hui, secretary of UCI Party Branch and general manager of UCI. Li Chengxi, director of Urban Railway Bureau at Urban Infrastructure Headquarters of Seoul Special City, South Korea; Pei Guangxi, director of Vehicle Division of Urban Railway Equipment Department; and Ma Juanzhai, project manager of Urban Railway Equipment Department; Wang Jie, president of Beijing Youths International Culture and Art Association; Li Huizhen, director of CSR Research Center; Sun Wei, deputy general manager of UCI and chairman of UCI Labor Union; Sun Jing, deputy general manager of UCI; Cheng Lu, general manager of UCI International Business Department; and Li Meng, director of GART Product Quality at Innovation Business Center, as well as heads of relevant departments, attended the exchanging activities.

Li Shengfu and others visited UCI “Craftsmanship” Digital Experience Center and Urban Rail Transit Cloud-Intelligence IoT Laboratory, showing a great interest in UCI products related to digital transportation and digital city. During the visit, Li Shengfu and others adequately understood UCI’s independently developed products and industrial layout, inquired about UCI’s visual-recognition products, and highly praised UCI’s strong technical strengths and achievements.

After the visit, Li Shengfu presented souvenirs on behalf of the South Korean party to UCI.

At the exchanging meeting, Zhang Hui welcomed of South Korean guests to UCI and expressed gratitude to president Wang Jie for his help and coordination. Zhang Hui stressed that China and South Korea are friendly neighbors, with frequent exchanges in culture, economy and other fields. UCD has participated in the construction of Chinatown and other projects in Incheon and other cities, and become an “old friend” of South Korean counterparts. As a national high-tech enterprise of UCD, UCI takes the lead in digital transportation, “urban rail transit cloud” in particular. UCI hopes to boost the innovation and development of transportation in Seoul and South Korea with its technical strengths.

Afterwards, Li Meng introduced UCI’s technical innovation and development to the attendees, such as new light rail, new-generation Guided Autonomous Rapid Transit (GART) and suspended monorail. The two parties had in-depth exchanges and discussions on technical innovation, new businesses and new use cases in digital transportation.

Li Shengfu acknowledged that the exchanges yielded fruitful results, deeply impressed by various innovative achievements of UCI. He looked forward to extensive cooperation in the future, hoping that the two parties can establish a communication mechanism and fully exchange ideas, in a bid to forge a new landscape for future transportation development.

On October 18, Zhang Hui accompanied Li Shengfu and others to visit the China Association of Metros (CAMET), having meetings and exchanges with Zhong Jianhua, vice president of CAMET and executive deputy director of CAMET Expert and Academic Committee; Han Baoming, deputy director and secretary general of CAMET Expert and Academic Committee; Liu Peidong, director of CAMET Expert and Academic Committee Comprehensive Business Department; Zuo Chao, deputy director of CAMET Office; and Chen Ge, deputy secretary general of CAMET Expert and Academic Committee.

Participants exchanged views on technical issues such as improving subway capacity, operating safety, warning standards for subway station passenger flow density, and monorail construction & operation. They unanimously agreed to strengthen communication and cooperation in urban rail transit between China and South Korea, establish a regular communication mechanism, discuss issues of common concern to the two parties, and deepen cooperation.
