Since winning the bid for the “Qingdao Metro Line 2 Phase I Project Adjustment Plan (Ferry Station to Taishan Road Station Section) Communication System, Integrated Monitoring System, AFC System Equipment Procurement and Integration Project” (the Qingdao Metro Line 2 project) in 2023, UCI has meticulously planned, arranged and taken proactive and effective measures to fully advance the project progress.

Recently, the Qingdao Metro Line 2 project has successfully entered the crucial phase of installing weak current equipment. The communication system equipment and integrated monitoring system equipment provided by UCI are being systematically delivered to the specialized equipment rooms through lifting holes. To ensure high standards and precision in the installation, UCI organized expert teams in advance to conduct rigorous reviews of key guiding documents, including installation briefing files, installation inspection record forms, and commissioning outlines.

Additionally, to ensure the construction entity fully understands the equipment installation process, the Qingdao Metro Line 2 project team organized detailed technical briefings. This ensures precision and high quality throughout the construction process. Meticulous preparation and strict process control have guaranteed high-quality and efficient project progress, showcasing UCI’s strong sense of responsibility, excellent project management capabilities, and consistent pursuit of high standards.

UCI primarily provides equipment procurement, integration and related services for various systems on this line, including transmission, office phones, dedicated phones, wireless communication, video surveillance, broadcasting, clocks, passenger information, office automation, power systems, police and fire wireless communication, police video transmission, police video surveillance, police computer networks, police power systems, integrated monitoring (including environment and equipment monitoring, power monitoring), access control, security inspection, energy management, and AFC systems.

The project is currently at a critical stage of equipment supply and installation supervision. UCI will continue to work closely with the metro operator to ensure timely delivery and strictly regulated installation. As equipment installation is completed, the Qingdao Metro Line 2 project will enter the new phase of individual equipment and system testing and commissioning. UCI will deploy a professional technical team to meticulously test and optimize each piece of equipment, ensuring optimal performance and providing robust technical support for the smooth progress and future safe operation of the Qingdao Metro Line 2 project.

The adjustment plan for Qingdao Metro Line 2 Phase I (Ferry Station to Taishan Road Station Section) covers around 3.84 km, entirely underground, with three stations. The control center for Line 2 Phase I is already established at the Liaoyang East Road depot, and the systems for the new stations will connect to this center. This line links key areas such as the Jinmao Harbour commercial district and the international cruise port. The cruise port area is crucial for Qingdao’s goal of building a world-class marine port and an international marine city. The construction of this project integrates with the rapid public transit corridor, effectively addresses transportation needs along the old western city area, supports regional development, and gives strong impetus to the growth of the international cruise port.
