The 10th Ningbo 2024 Green and Smart Rail Transit Innovation and Development Forum, hosted by The World Railway Development and Research Society and Ningbo Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd., was held on May 10-11. Wang Linghong, Deputy Secretary of the general Party branch committee and General Manager of UCI, led the team to attend the conference on behalf of the official partner of this forum.
With the theme “Technology-oriented for Greener and Smarter Development”, this forum attracted experts, scholars, business representatives, and government officials from across the country’s rail transit industry to collectively explore new trends, technologies and pathways for greener and smarter rail transit.
During the main forum session “New Thinkers”, Wang Linghong engaged with experts from across the country to discuss the prospects of integrating green and smart technologies. He elaborated on UCI’s achievements in the smart urban rail sector and the latest developments of the company’s projects in Ningbo. He emphasized that amid the current wave of digitization, the entire urban rail transit industry faces unprecedented challenges. UCI will leverage emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, IoT and AI as core elements to advance the digital transformation of transportation through “products + services”, continuously providing higher quality and more efficient services to urban rail transit. He affirmed UCI’s commitment to advancing hand in hand with the industry, delivering satisfactory outcomes in this pivotal period, and collectively moving towards a more intelligent and efficient future.
UCI Product Director Zhang Likuan shared at the “Digital Cloud Leads the Future” parallel session about “Openness and Integration: Digital Transformation Practice of Stations Based on Open Automation”. He comprehensively showcased UCI’s proactive exploration in station digital transformation, detailing how to further promote the integration and collaboration of business systems. Zhang emphasized that UCI is committed to driving business change by data, aiming to digitize the entire ecosystem of design, construction, operation, maintenance and emergency response. This effort is geared towards delivering smarter, more efficient, and convenient service experiences for the urban rail transit industry.
Shi Lifeng, Deputy Director of the Board Office at UCI, delivered a keynote speech titled “Work Together for Industry-Finance Integration” at the Rail Transit Innovation and Development Forum. He extensively shared UCI’s practical experience in the Fuzhou model in recent years, and proposed an industry path that can be learned from and replicated. Shi emphasized that in response to a downturn in industry investment, all construction entities must change their mindset, be market-oriented, and achieve value creation by means of capital. “Only in this way can we collectively build a path towards sustainable industry development, tackle challenges together, and create a better future,” said Shi.
UCI and other entities were awarded the certificates of supporters for the 10th Ningbo 2024 Green and Smart Rail Transit Innovation and Development Forum in recognition of their efforts towards industry development.
After two days of thorough exchanges and vigorous discussions, UCI achieved fruitful outcomes at this forum. The company engaged with attendees on key topics such as industry development, digital transformation, and industry-finance integration, and presented many forward-looking and feasible suggestions. Looking forward, UCI will continue to utilize technology as a driving force, steadfastly advance the digital upgrade of China’s urban rail transit, and contribute more state-owned enterprise efforts to propelling sustained industry development and innovation.
