With the melodious ringing of the New Year’s Bell and with a surge of emotions in our hearts, we warmly ushered in the year of 2024 full of infinite possibilities. For UCI, it is not only a simple alternation of time but is also an important moment of strategic transformation and all-round reformation.

The year 2023 was a year full of challenges and hopes. Under the firm leadership and strong support of UCD, we remained unswervingly true to our original aspiration, conscientiously carried out the strategic planning of UCD and coped with various tests in the “post-pandemic era” with a tenacious spirit. In face of the twists and turns of the economic resurgence and amidst the winds of change in the external market, we always maintained our focus on our own development and, with our meticulous organization and scientific planning, UCI’s all cadres and staff members were of one mind in making strenuous efforts and forging ahead bravely and made remarkable achievements in all work in the whole year.

In 2023, we scaled new heights in our main business and our leadership position in the rail transit market became more and more firm and stable —— we successively won biddings such as Fuzhou coastal express subway weak current system, Chongqing Rail Transit Bitong Line weak current system integration project and integration projects of rail transit communication system in Ningbo and Xi’an, continuing to take the lead in urban rail cloud and integrated supervision segment markets;completed the performance of contract for the first section of Fuzhou Subway Loop Line 4 and the autonomous rail rapid transit line T4 of Yibin. We made marks of struggle in 28 provinces, cities and province-level municipalities from Changchun to Shenzhen and from Tianjin to Shanghai.

Meanwhile, we bravely broadened our vision and marched towards a broader field ——“digital city”. On the brand-new journey, we advanced step by step firmly and calmly. With the constant deepening and development of our business, we made the strategic targets of our 14th five-year plan to pace with the times, “Devotion to becoming the leading supplier of comprehensive solutions for ‘digital city’ in China” is our goal that not only reflects the foresight and creative spirit of UCI but all the more manifests UCI’s profound insight and firm commitment to future urban development.

In 2023, we made good performance of merits one after another on the journey of “digital city”!In overseas market, we set sail in the field of smart city by dint of our advanced machine vision technology.

In a country of southeast Asia, UCI supplied a variety of intelligent devices such as front-end cameras and annunciators for the construction of its national traffic police transport management platform to boost the enhancement of the intelligent level of the country’s transportation management. In designing the transportation system, we always paid attention to thinking from the perspective of development and to cross-field cooperation and innovation in an effort to provide systematic, comprehensive, forward-looking and innovative solutions for the sustainable development of the cities in that country.

In a country of west Africa, UCI joined hands with the local governments to conduct a five-year cooperation in the construction of smart cities encompassing industries such as public security, traffic police and fire fighting and relating to three types of intelligent application such as good governance, business promotion and benefit to people. The project construction will revolve around UCI’s urban solutions and take video, GPS and communication application as front-end perception base, cloud computing as the core platform and big data information sharing as an effective means to provide business enablement in the form of service, to form an urban structure of “a cloud being a net, one center with N applications (intelligent transportation, brilliant engineering and emergency command)”, to provide administrators and decision-makers with effective basis for decision making and to improve social comprehensive governance and traffic management and service levels so as to provide better life and work services to townspeople, create more favorable environment for business development and empower governments with more efficient operation and management mechanisms.

In domestic market, “digital city” is also an arena for us to demonstrate our capabilities —— In 2023, UCI won successively biddings of intelligent computing centers of Ankang, Shaanxi and Zengcheng, Guangzhou. By offering independently-developed products, solutions and all-around service support, we are helping those cities to build strong and intelligent computing systems to provide urban intelligent development with strong support.

In the project of Ankang Intelligent Computing Center, UCI will provide a wealth of independently-developed products and solutions and, based on all links of intelligent computing such as infrastructure construction, operation and maintenance, core technology research, industrial ecology building, platform product construction, business development, product solution, infrastructure product operation, supply chain maintenance, data algorithm sourcing and opening and industry standard setting, UCI will provide experienced and leading team support for Ankang Intelligent Computing Center to help it build intelligent computing cluster hardware infrastructure and the intelligent computing cluster software system with the computing power coming to 1000P (FP16).

In the project of Hengshuo Guangzhou Ultra-efficiency Intelligent Computing Center (Guangzhou Zengcheng Intelligent Computing Center), UCI will build its AI basic service platform based on Chinese-made AI chips, independent controllable computing framework and basic software to help the center to construct the AI integration and empowerment center on international T3+ and CQC-A levels and with its computing power coming to 4000P to provide more users with services such as low latency AI computing power, algorithm and application.

In addition, we are actively expanding application scenarios in the field of smart medical care and, in close cooperation with partners like Tencent Cloud and Rui Xing and by introducing advanced AI and big data technologies, UCI will integrate a variety of intelligent devices to facilitate the intelligent upgrading of medical services, to build a convenient and efficient medical environment for patients and medical workers, to let the strength of science and technology reinvigorate with new vitalities in medical service and enable more people to enjoy high-quality medical experience.

In 2024, UCI will deepen in an all-round way its layout and innovation in all fields of digital city at a firmer pace and full of enthusiasm. UCI will continue to increase its R&D input, constantly roll out innovation technologies and products with market competitiveness, and meet market demands in various localities with quality services. In the meantime, UCI will actively expand its international market and seek joint efforts and common development with more partners across the globe to jointly push forward the prosperity and development of the global digital city construction. UCI will always stick to its original aspiration and mission and contribute more its strength as a state-owned enterprise to social progress and development by virtue of its scientific and technological strength!
