UCI Holds its Employees’ Congress in Spring

On the morning of March 10, UCI successfully held its first session of the 2nd Employees’ Congress and 2024 Work Meeting. The event aimed to implement the group’s 2024 work meeting spirit, comprehensively review 2023, summarize experiences, analyze current situations, commend outstanding achievements, and set goals and key tasks for 2024. It also aimed to unify and motivate all staff to confidently advance their work. Attendees included UCI’s leadership team, department heads, employee representatives, and labor union representatives.
The meeting was chaired by Wang Linghong, Deputy Secretary of the general Party branch committee and General Manager of UCI. He delivered a work report titled “Uphold principles and innovate for stable progress”.
The report highlighted 2023 as the beginning of recovery after the pandemic, marked by unprecedented challenges. The economic environment remained under pressure, international situations were increasingly uncertain, and competition among major powers intensified. Due to these complex factors, the rail transit industry faced severe tests. However, with steadfast belief and resilience, all employees of UCI actively planned, decisively responded, and tackled difficulties head-on, thus ensuring the steady progress of UCI’s overall operations. Encouragingly, the company surpassed annual targets in key operational metrics. New contract signings, revenue, profits, and receivables all reached a record high of the company, showing significant year-on-year growth. This achievement demonstrates the company’s cohesion and strength, and lays a solid foundation for its future development.
In 2023, UCI intensified technological innovation, made breakthroughs in multiple fields, and successfully applied them to several key projects. Its enhanced project management ensured the successful completion of 75 projects. The autopilot system of Fuzhou Metro Line 4 commenced operations, and the trial operation of Yibin ART Line T4 began. An intelligent manufacturing production base was established and put into operation, completing the entire industry chain. Party building efforts were strengthened, with expanded organizational scale and effective communication and outreach. The initiative “Enhancing Party Building Leadership, Promoting UCI to Lead in Urban Rail Cloud” was selected as an outstanding grassroots Party building case by the SASAC. The company’s systematic project advancements have made significant contributions to the industry’s development.
In 2024, as mandated by BUCG, it is a crucial year for UCI to achieve its strategic goals for the 14th Five-Year Plan. Guided and supported by BUCG, UCI will seize opportunities in digital economy development, deeply integrate into BUCG’s industrial chain, and contribute to BUCG’s digital transformation. The focus will be on continually enhancing innovation and management capabilities, and translating technological innovations into market competitiveness. Efforts will aim to increase the influence and scale of services, improve profitability, and achieve higher quality and efficiency.
Regarding the goals and tasks for 2024, the report emphasizes the company’s comprehensive efforts in enhancing marketing, ensuring the implementation of new rail transit projects, seizing opportunities in the weak-current market upgrading and the Information Technology Application Innovation Industry, and consolidating and expanding industry markets. Meanwhile, it aims to increase exploration of internal market demands, advance digital city and overseas market expansions, shoulder corporate main responsibilities, adhere to technical innovation, enhance competitiveness in self-developed products, fully integrate the supply chain, promote intelligent manufacturing upgrades, optimize company system management, and strengthen headquarters functions. Additionally, the company seeks to refine the talent system, enhance party building efforts, and provide solid guarantees for its high-quality development.
Following the report, the meeting held an awards ceremony to honor outstanding teams and individuals. A total of 10 employees for outstanding contributions, 29 excellent employees, 7 outstanding newcomers, 3 excellent project managers, 5 technology innovation teams, 4 outstanding teams, 2 hardworking teams, and 1 excellent profit-making team were recognized.
After the awards ceremony, Zhang Hui, Secretary of the general Party branch committee and Chairman of UCI, delivered an important speech. He stated that UCI, through years of project and product accumulation, has overcome numerous challenges and achieved significant successes. Especially during the past three years of the pandemic, the company has demonstrated strong adaptability and achieved rapid growth, thanks to the collective efforts of the team and a relentless spirit of innovation.
