Recently, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology hosted the Symposium on the Third Batch of Beijing Hidden Champion Enterprises in Beijing, themed “Building Teams for Development”. The symposium was attended by Su Guobin, Deputy Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Jiang Lan, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Federation of Industry & Commerce. Certificates were awarded to 13 hidden champion enterprises. Sun Jing, Deputy General Manager of UCI, represented the company at the event and engaged in in-depth discussions with attending leaders and representatives of hidden champions from various industries.
At the symposium, Sun Jing expressed gratitude to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the Beijing Federation of Industry & Commerce for providing a platform for exchange. She gave a detailed introduction to UCI’s expertise and achievements in digital transportation and digital city. Sun emphasized that as a municipal state-owned enterprise, UCI consistently prioritizes technological research and innovation as its core driving force, with a focus on the fields of digital transportation and digital city. With continuous efforts and investment, UCI has accumulated extensive experience and expertise, and successfully developed autonomous and controllable products and technologies. These technologies and products have been widely applied and validated across the country, demonstrating the leading role of the “First-Class Standards” and “Beijing Experience”. UCI remains committed to transforming new quality productive forces into powerful drivers of economic and social development. The company looks forward to collaborating with peers to explore the broad application prospects of new quality productive forces in smart city and intelligent transportation, thus contributing to Beijing’s economic development.
Su Guobin highly praised and responded positively to Sun Jing’s speech. He highlighted Premier Li Qiang’s emphasis on self-driving technology and smart city construction after the Two Sessions (the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference). Su pointed out that the rail transit market has vast existing capacity and future development potential. He encouraged more industry enterprises, including UCI, to actively respond to national policies and increase investment in smart city and other non-rail sectors. Using the Yizhuang smart intersection renovation project as an example, he explained the technical renovation plan and market potential, urging companies like UCI to learn from successful cases and explore new opportunities.
Su Guobin emphasized that Beijing highly values the development of hidden champion enterprises and has implemented various supporting measures, including personalized services, policy support, financing assistance, technical support, and talent development. He encouraged these hidden champions to intensify technological innovation, deeply integrate into the industrial chain, and drive their continuous growth while fostering the development of more specialized and innovative companies.
This symposium provided a valuable opportunity for government-enterprise communication. UCI will use this as a springboard to further strengthen cooperation with government departments, and jointly advance smart city construction and intelligent rail transit upgrades. Moving forward, UCI will continue to lead with new quality productive forces and contribute to Beijing’s economic and social development through ongoing technological innovation and product development.
